Anonymous, I don't normally allow anonymous comments. Just so you know, I'd appreciate it if you include a name of some sort from now on. It doesn't have to be your full legal name, but it needs to be something that you are willing to stick to in this conversation. Own what you way in public.
As to your question, I want to hear evidence (though that is a largely rhetorical request since I don't see how anyone could have any) that Ahmadenijad is a 'psychopath'. When exactly did he scream that he's "going" to destroy Israel? More importantly, why do you believe that he
a. would actually try, and
b. would actually succeed?
Israel can take of herself. And I don't mean that dismissively, like "Israel can go to H---". I mean it quite sincerely; I believe that Israel is fully capable of making a nation like Iran think twice before they would go nuclear. The very idea that Isreal could be 'destroyed' by such an attack is simply not believable. And the notion that Ahamdenijad (who doesn't really direct Iranian policy anyway) is so blatantly irrational as to be willing to blow up everyone in Israel and his own country is, again, too difficult to believe without some extraordinary evidence.
I'm familiar with the rhetoric about 'crazy' Iran, but I want to see the substance behind it.
Oh, and one other point is simply that I don't see any morally plausible argument that we are allowed to possess atomic bombs, but other countries are not. This is the sort of "exceptionalist" approach to foreign affairs that drives other countries nuts.
